Hello Everyone!
Welcome to my brand-new blog! In case this is your first time here, please allow me introduce myself.
I live in Northeast Ohio with my husband where we are surrounded by a host of cherished wild critters, our two dogs, five cats, a canary, and a goldfish named Cleveland. We are a blended family with six grown children and three grandchildren. Aside from my family and spirituality, three of my greatest passions are writing, rescuing animals, and entrepreneurship – all of which showed up in my life at a very early age.
My love of writing began when I was around five and just learning to print letters. I have fond memories of an imaginary friend that would walk out from my bedroom wall and sit beside me with encouraging words as I wrote about my ever-growing menagerie of animals that blessed our home. It was not long after that I rescued my first “cat family”, a mother cat with her kittens, while walking to school in the first grade. By the time I reached the age of eight, my friends and I were confronted with a dilemma, which was how to create a “snack fund” when we had no money? While trying to solve the problem an entrepreneur spark was lit and I started my first of many businesses (You can read about my journey as an entrepreneur here “An Entrepreneur’s Journey”).
My published works have been mostly business related and up until this point the stories I have written have been shared only with family or close friends. With my first children’s picture book about to be released, I thought it was a good starting point to launch one of my passion projects — this blog.
My dream for this blog is to share stories from the heart, mind, and soul. I hope it will be a place that you’ll want to come back to for inspiration, a smile, a laugh, or to warm your heart and lift you up when you’re having a bad day.
When I’m not writing, running one of my companies, or rescuing animals, you can find me crewing my Ultra Runner husband, James (www.oparuns.com) at Ultra Races, traveling in our motor home, checking out the latest restaurants in town and spending time with our family and friends – both animal and human alike!
While you are waiting for my next post, I would love to know who you are so please feel free to tell me a little about yourself in the comments below!
