Last Saturday morning was filled with lots of ❤️ fun and heart tugging!

Heart tugging, in a good way, because I had a surprise meeting with one of our rescue dogs from back in April 2016, Journey – now named Mavis. Her owners, Jessica Leigh and Marcus, were camping right across from us!!!!

Journey/Mavis was one of many lost or abandoned dogs that James would run into on his morning runs along the towpath As you can see in the photo below, she was so emaciated that honestly, we thought if she hadn’t been rescued, she would not have been alive much longer.

Seeing her today filled my heart right up! We have rescued a lot of animals but only a few have touched my spirit so deeply. We had a one of a kind connection. ❤️

Judging by that smile in her face, she remembered me! … at least I’d like to think she did!

Mavis still has that loving spirit and I do believe she remembered me! She would not leave my side the whole time I was talking to her family. As you can see, they take great care of her along with their two boys, another dog named Miss Ruby, cats and chickens! It was extra special to be able to look over and see her all weekend. Made my heart full all weekend long! ❤️
