About Sherry

Long before the catch phase, Virtual Office, came along, Sherry was paving the way from afar. In 1992 with a box of business cards, a typewriter and a newly purchased word processor, Sherry, opened for business offering office services to contractors working out of their trucks. The phrases "Virtual Assistant" and "Virtual Outsourcing" hadn't been coined yet but that was exactly what she was doing. Instead of sending tasks via email or through client portals, contractors would call in or mail their various tasks. Today, Ms. Carnahan and her staff provide back office and marketing support Financial Advisors and Authors through her companies, Total Office, Inc. and Red Dress Marketing

Sherry is currently a writer and Thought Leader for The Digital FA , an online portal dedicated exclusively to the social media, technology and digital marketing needs of Advisors and Financial Advisors.
She has authored a soon to be released children's book and working on several other book projects. Sherry has written for and been featured in several magazines such as Bloomberg Wealth, Financial Advisor and Working Woman magazines, as well as in three books: Homemade Money: Bringing in the Bucks by Barbara Brabec, Virtual Office Tools for a High-Margin Practice by David J. Drucker and Joel P. Bruckenstein, and Small Business Savvy: A Woman's Guide to Building a Business by Norma J. Rist and Katina Z. Jones.

When not running their company, Sherry and her husband James can be found traveling in their motor home visiting their six children, writing and donating their time and resources to military families,Operation Orphan Wildlife Rehabilitationg (a rehabilitation center for orphan and injured wildlife), Haven for Pets (animal rescue) and the Kenmore Community in which they live.
